What’s Learnin’ Ya?

September 30th, 2008

I don’t know where I heard this saying, but it’s made a big impression on me. In some specific culture, instead of saying “how are you?” when they meet, they say: “what’s learnin’ ya?” What they really mean is what are you working on… what are your facing… how are you evolving? Great questions.

I’ll tell you honestly what’s learnin’ me right now. I’m creating my own videos (watch for video posts soon) and it’s kickin’ my butt! First of all, I’m not glamorous like some famous internet marketers we know. ; ‘ ) And, I’ve spend the last eleven years delivering coaching, training and masterminds by phone. I’m an introvert!

But, you know what, nothing ventured is nothing gained, so I’m cutting loose from my standard ways. I’m coming out in front of the camera (and out of my sweats!) to you.

So, what’s learnin’ you?

Affording What’s Good for You

September 25th, 2008

If your prospects say they can’t afford coaching, it only means you haven’t hit the spot with your offer yet. Don’t give up, help your prospects move beyond their objections. Practice closing. As boring or scary as it seems, it’s the key to a prosperous coaching business.

Now, what about you… Have you been saying that you can’t afford something that would be really good for you? If you’ve said ‘no’ to hiring a personal trainer, virtual assistant, or to enrolling in that business development program, stop it! We usually tell ourselves we can’t afford those things because we’re afraid to play a bigger game.

A dear friend once said to me: “Rhonda, if you believe you can afford it then you will!” She was right. Each time I’ve afforded something good for me, the investment I made in me rewards many times over. I have never looked back in regret at spending money that makes a difference in the quality of my life or career. You won’t either. And if you walk the talk, your prospects will follow!

Coaching Clients of the Past - Why You Should Stay in Touch

September 23rd, 2008

When coaching clients leave, do you forget all about them? That may be a costly mistake.

Your past clients could very well be your future clients! Over 70% of my clients of the past five years have come back at least once for another round of coaching. But if I hadn’t kept the relationship alive, I’m not sure they would have. Which means I would have worked seven times harder to keep my business full of great clients!

When a client is ready to go, send them off with blessings and tell them you’d love to keep in touch. Even if they’re still getting your ezine or subscribed to your blog, there’s nothing like a personal touch. Put ticklers in your calendar reminding you to email them or leave a message every couple of months. Keep it short. Check in about a goal they had and write a sentence or two about what’s new in your business. They will think of you when they’re ready to take another leap!
